An average of 40 themes is addressed over the period of 1 year.
Each of these age groups has a specific programme with age appropriate outcomes per learning area.
These outcomes are progressive between the different age groups.
Although we refrain from using worksheets in the younger age groups, as explained in the Toddler section, we gradually introduce workbooks covering Math, Pre-Reading, and Writing in Grade R to prepare learners for Grade 1.
Progress reports are handed out 3 times per year.
A profile is created with the child’s work throughout the year for two purposes: to preserve their work and for assessment.
The number of learners is capped according to a maximum of 24 in Grade R, with progressively fewer learners as the children are younger. The exact ratios are determined by municipal bylaws, ensuring compliance while prioritizing individual care and interaction. Support staff and teaching assistants are allocated to each class based on the specific needs of the learners
